One of my favorite beverages to enjoy all year long is home brewed iced tea, but I always get impatient waiting for the tea to brew and cool. I have a confession to make. I haven’t owned a kettle for years, ever since the house I was renting had bad electrical problems and shorted out every single kitchen appliance I owned. Since then, I have been making my iced tea in a pot, on top of the stove for longer than I care to admit.
I received a Capresso Iced Tea Maker to try free of charge and I am loving it! I will never go back to brewing my iced tea in a pot again. The Capresso Iced Tea Maker brews homemade iced tea that is ready to drink in just minutes. No more boiling water and waiting for it to cool.

It is super easy to make fresh brewed iced tea at the press of a button with the Capresso Iced tea Maker. Fill the removable water tank with water, add tea bags or loose tea to the filter basket, fill the glass pitcher with ice, choose your brew strength and push start. If you like, you can add fresh or frozen fruit to the pitcher with the ice cubes to make fruity iced tea beverages.
It is that easy – just like making a pot of coffee. It even has an automatic shut-off, so you don’t have to worry about forgetting to shut it off.
In just 10 minutes, you will have a pitcher of freshly brewed iced tea that is ready to drink. Pour and enjoy! The glass pitcher comes with a lid for storing in the refrigerator. Pick up an extra glass pitcher for serving larger families and crowds.
My normal go-to flavor of iced tea is lemon, but sometimes I like to sweeten it up by adding fruit. A favorite recipe my family enjoys is strawberry iced tea lemonade, a mixture of fruity iced tea and lemonade. The combination of black tea with strawberries and freshly squeezed lemons is like a burst of sunshine in your mouth, a little bit sweet and a little bit tart. Instead of adding sugar, I use a can of frozen lemonade concentrate to sweeten it up. Here is the recipe if this sounds yummy to you!
- 6-8 black tea bags
- 2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries, sliced
- 3 lemons
- 1 can frozen lemonade concentrate
- Add one can of frozen lemonade concentrate, 2 cups strawberries and 2 sliced lemons to the pitcher. Squeeze the juice from the third lemon into the pitcher.
- Lightly muddle the fruit and concentrate together with a wooden spoon.
- Very gently, fill the pitcher to the ice level marking with ice cubes.
- Place the lid on the pitcher and set it on the ice tea machine.
- Fill the water tank with cold water to the water level marking.
- Place tea bags into the brew basket and close the lid.
- Adjust the brew strength with the slide on the front of the machine. Slide to the left for a weaker brew and slide to the right for a stronger brew.
- Plug the machine into the wall and press the on button and let brew.
- Pour tea into ice-filled glasses or store in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours.
We are really loving our Capresso Iced Tea Maker and have had no problems so far. The only concern I have is that the glass pitcher is VERY delicate. I am super careful not to bump the pitcher because I worry it might crack. I wish the glass was a bit thicker. If you are clumsy, this may not be the kitchen appliance for you. Other than the glass pitchers being very fragile, I am very happy with our iced tea machine and we are using it quite often.
TIP – To avoid breakage when you are filling the pitcher with ice, very gently place the ice cubes into the pitcher instead of dropping them in.
If you do happen to break the pitcher, you can pick up a replacement one. You could also initially pick up a Capresso Iced Tea Maker that includes 2 pitchers.
Overall, I am happy with our Capresso Iced Tea Maker and I would recommend it for anyone who enjoys drinking home brewed iced tea. These would make a wonderful Christmas, wedding, house warming, or going off to college present. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoyed my recipe for strawberry iced tea lemonade. Cheers!
