This recipe for mandarin orange slush includes only two ingredients – freshly squeezed orange juice and a can of mandarin oranges in its own juices. And best of all, it contains zero added sugar, preservatives or artificial ingredients. This is a super healthy and refreshing treat for both kids and adults. With the extra sweetness from the mandarin oranges, the kids won’t even miss the sugar.
I used my Zoku Slush & Shake Maker to make this mandarin orange slush. The recipe makes enough for two Zoku Slush & Shake Maker servings or one large serving.
How To Make Mandarin Orange Slush In A Zoku Slush & Shake Maker
Place your Zoku Slush & Shake Makers in the freezer for at least 12-24 hours prior to using. Place a can of mandarin oranges in the fridge at the same time so they will be nice and cold when you are ready to make the slushies. For best results, it is best to start with chilled ingredients, otherwise it will take longer for the liquid to turn into slush.
Combine freshly squeezed or store bought 100% pure orange juice and a can of mandarin oranges in a blender. Turn on high and blend for 1 to 2 minutes, until the mixture is a smooth puree.
Pour the mixture between two Zoku Slush & Shake Maker cups. Using the Zoku plastic spoon, start scraping the sides of the cup. The mixture will start to form immediately. Continue scraping and stirring until the liquid has formed into an icy slush which takes approximately 10 minutes.
If you want to make one large serving, pour half the mixture into the cup and set the other half aside. As you eat the slush, add the remainder of the slushie mixture a little at a time to the cup and continue stirring and eating.
- 1 can mandarin oranges, in own juice
- 1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice or 100% pure orange juice
- Add mandarin oranges and orange juice to a blender.
- Blend on high for 1 to 2 minutes, until the mixture is pureed.
- Pour the mixture into Slush & Shake Maker(s).
- Scrape the sides of the cup with plastic spoon and stir for about 10 minutes, until the mixture has thickened into an icy slush.
- Dig in and enjoy!
